What We Offer
Bruce’s 2x4 Diner is on the west side of the Niagara region, situated between Port Colborne, Wainfleet, Fenwick, and Wellandport, on the busy Hwy 24. Serving breakfast and lunch. Our menu features classics with a twist including some healthy options, and a deli style lunch menu, with freshness always top of mind. Although we are not open daily for dinner, we are available for all your private party needs both onsite and offsite.You can buy out the diner for any celebration and have a custom menu and plan designed just for you, even including wine/beer pairings, just send us an e-mail and we will help to create the perfect event.Please note that there are no prepared packages, we create a custom plan and menu for your event, bespoke to your wishes.
One of the most important aspects of our business is our suppliers. Without great products coming in we couldn’t do what we do. Bruce Hospitality is very proud to have partnered with the following suppliers: Nighs of Jarvis butcher shop, Packham Poultry Egg Farmers, Tom Neufeld Farms, Con Gusto Bakery, Barclay and Todd's, Johnson Farms, Bry-Anne Farms, Rumar Farms, Corporate Facility Supply, Mortons Wholesale.
We are working with SS Brand it, to offer a selection of items you can order and have shipped directly to your house or pick up at the diner. We also work with Fontaine’s tailor to locally produce some items at his shop in Welland with Canadian fabrics. These limited run items are available online and at the diner.
Bruce Hospitality was created when an incredibly patient and loving wife supported her husband to have their dreams come to life. Kyle, after leaving the Royal Canadian Air Force went to culinary school at Pacific Institute of Culinary Arts, and years later completed his Sommelier certification through the Canadian Association of Professional Sommeliers at Niagara College. Kyle has actively engaged in many different positions at restaurants such as Oliver and Bonacini, Langdon Hall, Fairmont Empress, and the Mark Picone Culinary Studio. Throughout a career spanning more than 20 years Kyle has become known for his passion, persistence, compassion, creativity, attention to detail, a commitment to lifelong learning and teaching, and of course fresh locally sourced food prepared with thoughtful intent. After settling down in Niagara, out for a drive one day Kyle proclaimed with excitement, “I know I said I would never open a restaurant, but that one, that one is special” and of course ‘that one’ was the iconic 2x4 Diner. Years later after seeing the diner for sale, armed with very little money, big dreams, and a tireless work ethic, the journey to revive the former gem had begun, but this was to be different, to buck the stereotypes of restaurant work, to Be The Change. This an ethos that was applied to every part of the process. A greater level of appreciation, mindfulness, caring, kindness, support, not only for each other, but our community, our suppliers and of course the products. After a short closure, in the summer of 2022 Bruce’s 2x4 Diner was opened, and true to the goal we are doing it our way.
